Video: Nate Berkus Give Us a Tour of His Home

The adorably handsome Oprah offspring, Nate Berkus (how is he already 38 and what is he drinking?!), gives us a tour of his 1700-square-foot New York City home and reveals that his favorite spot for furniture and home decor shopping is the flea market. Notice a trend? His new eponymous show, The Nate Berkus Show, premiers on September 13th.

Will you be setting your TiVo? (Oh dear God, is that Bethenny Frankel? We’ll forgive you, Nate. But just this once. And only because you are a CU-TIEEEE PIE!) To see where the show will air in your area, click here.

The one-of-a-kind dolls, created by New York-based artist Andrew Yang, are being auctioned off for Fashion’s Night Out, with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting The New York City AIDS Fund. Don’t you just love Anna’s expression? You just know she’s saying, “What the hell were you thinking wearing that, Grace?! More like dis-Grace. Uuugh. And get some Frizz-Ease while you’re at it.”

BussBuss Best Dressed List: Emmy’s 2010

Emmy's Fashion; Best Dressed Emmy's Fashion; Celebrity Fashion and Style

The Emmy’s red carpet was a bit of a snoozefest this year, (note to nominees: The Emmy’s aren’t a wedding or prom) but two ladies made us take double takes, for better or worse (to us, these are the best because they’re also the most controversial, so we expect many to hate these looks as much as we love them). Mad Men’s January Jones dazzled in a rich, bright blue Atelier Versace gown, while castmate Christina Hendricks was breathtaking in a lilac Zac Posen. We’re mad about both. How about you?

Who was your best dressed pick from The Emmy's?

BussBuss Best Blog: The Brass Petal

The Brass Petal; The Brass Petal Blog; Emily Henderson; Design Star; Design Star's Emily Henderson; Emily Henderson's Blog

Have you been watching Design Star this season? The best part? Designer and prop stylist Emily Henderson (Emily’s the adorable one in the darling blue dress in the photo above). She won us over with her trademark vintage-preppy style and KiKi Dunst good looks.  You may know her best as the one who stares a lot…

Like us, you probably suspected she was a cool, funny girl. And, after stumbling across her blog The Brass Petal, we now know we were wrong. She’s not funny, she’s hysterical. It’s not often someone can use the word douchey on a design blog and make it seem so delightfully charming. Her stream-of-consciousness writing is refreshing and we love the behind-the-scenes Design Star play-by-play. Her very genuine self-effacing (but not self-loathing) approach makes you feel like she could be your BFF. (Side note: If you want a shot at becoming her BFF, Emily and her hubby are having an informal season finale viewing party in LA this Sunday. And if you want to be our BFF, we’ll be there too!).

Design Star Emily Henderson's living room

She shares her own design questions and problems, though from her spot-on living room (see above), it doesn’t seem she has any (so simple but with just the right mix of special elements).

Emily Henderson's office

And, unlike most designers, she even shares some of her secret sources, like the under-the-radar vintage shop in LA where she scooped up that great blue chair for her office (and which has us now wanting to recreate the same look in ours).  If you want to be able to say you knew her (blog) when, click here to read The Brass Petal now before she wins on Sunday and becomes a super Design Star!

Best/Worst iPhone App: NYTimes Crosswords

The New York Times Crosswords App; The New York Times Crossword App; NYTimes Crosswords App

Like the smell of coffee which is at once intoxicating and revolting, The New York Times Crosswords iPhone app is both the best and the worst. Extremely addictive, fun, challenging and headache-inducing, you’ll curse your public school education while your beloved partner-in-solving curses his private school education as you lay in bed at night trying to solve the day’s puzzle. Instead of peacefully falling asleep, you’ll either a) angrily fall into slumber after not completing the day’s puzzle or b) exhaustedly fall asleep after staying up way too late to solve said puzzle. Fueled by mudslides and martinis, you’ll play with your friends, harnessing group brainpower, cheering when you solve one measly clue, drowning your sorrows in the liquor of life when you can’t come up with the last letter of a four-letter word (d*mn you, Gray Lady!). Are you ready for that wordy? Click here to read all about it and to download the (free) app, if you dare.

Project Runway & On the Road with Austin and Santino!

Project Runway Season 8 Premiere; On the Road with Austin and Santino

Project Runway Season 8 premiers tonight (9 EST/PST)! Will you be watching? We’ll be tuning in for our Tim Gunn fix and for 90 minutes of meet and greets with the new brood of designers — all 17 of them. Can’t wait? Check out their bios and portfolios here. This is a season of firsts. The first time in Project Runway history that the finalists won’t show at the Bryant Park tents because, as you know, New York Fashion Week is moving to Lincoln Center. The first time a contestant will be auf’d before he/she even gets to unpack (ouch). The first time Piperlime will be the new Accessories Wall partner (adios, Bluefly). Heidi’s no longer a blonde (gasp!). Oh, and Nina Garcia is preggers with her second baby (cheers!) and Selma Blair will be judging the premiere episode with Heidi, Michael and Nina. In related news, did you know that Models of the Runway is out and On the Road with Austin and Santino is in? It will air on Thursday nights after Project Runway at 10:30 EST/PST and is an Oprah and Gayle’s roadtrip meets What Not to Wear. O.M.G.

BussBuss Best Blog: TOMBOYstyle

Tomboy Style Blog; Tomboy Blog; Tomboy Style; Tomboys

Tomboy-chic style is all the rage, from Paris street style and Isabel Marant to J.Crew’s fall catalog. Making tomboy style her singular focus is blogger Lizzie Garrett of TOMBOYstyle. A visual compendium of tomboys new and old, famous and obscure, from Katherine Hepburn to Lee Radziwill, Jennifer Aniston to Stella McCartney, we love the big glossy photos, the accompanying quotes and, most importantly, the spirit of the tomboy — confident, adventurous, rebellious. Are you a tomboy?

Material Girls: Madonna, Lola and Momsen for Macy’s

Material Girl collection for Macy's. Madonna's Macy's line. Lola Blogs. Lourdes blogs. Madonna's daughter blogs. Taylor Momsen models Material Girl. Taylor Momsen ad campaign.

Hearing that Madonna and daughter Lola are designing a collection for Macys’s called (what else?) Material Girl collection and that Lourdes (or, um, Lola) is writing the Material Girl blog surely will cause a few eye rolls and scoffs. But, we must say, they’re both actually pretty good.

The Material Girl collection features lots of trendy pieces for really affordable prices ($12-$40). A peek at Lola’s blog shows band jackets, crop tops, military jackets and mini cross-body bags. Typos and the abundance of the word “like” aside, we, like, really like the Material Girl blog – an eclectic mix of inspirations from art and vintage fashion to London and New York’s best shopping spots to, what else, music (Lola, like, totes hearts My Chemical Romance). Oh, did we mention Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen models the collection in the ad campaign? The Material Girl collection will debut at Macy’s nationwide on August 3rd.
