Instagram: Ted Baker, Winning!

I had a blast at the Ted Baker event tonight. I met so many stylish, talented people and won a $500 shopping spree! Yowzas. Here is what I wore.

This pretty pale pink dress arrived on my doorstep for my birthday (thanks Mom — and Dad!) and I couldn’t wait to wear it. Luckily, a happy hour invitation provided the perfect excuse. While I would generally reach for my faux fur vest and nude platforms to complete the look, I thought I better try something new before you, dear readers, pummel me with tomatoes for wearing the same thing over and over again.
Luckily, my friend Helen had just given me this navy blazer, and I liked how it balanced out the sweet girly feel of the frock and made this office (um, or office-to-cocktails) appropriate. To add more shape to my waist, in lieu of buttoning up the blazer I simply used the belt that came with the dress and tied it snugly around my midsection.

A pop of turquoise and baby blue on my feet, with a sprinkle of sunshiney yellow on my nails, and I was ready for cocktails with some of my favorite ladies.
Here’s wishing you happy times with your favorite people this weekend and always xx.

On Sunday, we gathered in Holmby Park to say hello to our friends, Candy and Hef, and to soak up a few rays over the first picnic of the season. I couldn’t wait to wear this polka dot top and these scalloped shorts that Fred Baby and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baby, Sr. gifted me for my birthday (thank you so very, very much, daaahlings!).

I was also excited to have an excuse to wear this Audrey Hepburn-inspired hat that I picked up in a teeny tiny shop in the tiny town of Miguel Perera, Brazil a few weeks ago. I’m so excited about picnic season and have decided this is the year of the Picnic Club! Who’s in xx?

On Saturday night we were honored to attend an intimate engagement dinner for our friends, hosted by family friends of the bride’s parents. The location was an elegant highrise on the Wilshire Corridor so I wanted to wear something appropriate but with a little kick.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I don’t normally gravitate towards fitted frocks, but the emerald green hue of this dress had me at hello.

While a nude or metallic heel would have been lovely, I wanted something a smidge more playful. Luckily, these Valley-of-the-Dolls-pink wedges had just arrived on my doorstep.

Pink and green always feel like a classic combo. It simultaneously reminds me of the Beverly Hills Hotel in the ’50s — or so I imagine — and of East Coast country clubs in the ’80s, which was fitting for the affair, as it was very martinis in the parlor (think Gilmore Girls at Emily and Richard’s, my dream come true!). We had such a lovely night and can’t wait for the wedding. The only question: What to wear?

A few nights ago I had the pleasure of attending interior designer Kishani Perera’s book party at her Los Angeles shop Rummage for her new tome Vintage Remix: The Interiors of Kishani Perera.

I’d attended a Sephora + Pantone event earlier in the afternoon where I went more casual, but wanted to step it up in the glamour department — quite literally, as I knew actress and model Molly Sims would be at the book launch (Kishani designed Sims’ gorgeous residence).
I’ve learned my lesson not to stand next to tall beautiful blonds — at least not without really high shoes on, thankyouverymuch.

I decided on this creme brulee frock with chevron-patterned gold beading.

And then decided to go gold or go home with a glittering arm party.

Above are some snaps from the soiree, including (from l-r): party-goers at Rummage; designer Kishani Perera and myself; my party-hopping partner in crime Jenny and I toasting with stripey straws; and, Kishani’s new book Vintage Remix, which you can scoop up here.

It was a beautiful evening made even sweeter with a night cap at Al Gelato, followed by curling up with the new issue of Domino. (Can we talk about how exciting that is?!).
